Tracks v paddocks

We have Abbots View near us, some of them who can tolerate grass do have access to it or have time seperate from the herd for loose hay time. They are a good follow if you are on face book.

I think they are a good option for horses struggling with laminitis or hoof issues, but I do think the tracks themselves are quite bland!

I think the name of the one I like in Wales is Horse Haven. An old HHO member sent her PSSM horses there and it winds through wooded bits, loads of hedgerows etc.

Oooh - how did you prepare the ground under the sand? Mine would love that.

Just a membrane down and sand dumped on top.
I figure there's not much harm if they wreck it and if they dig through the membrane I'd rather they hit normal earth than stone or anything.

I've been thinking I might tie 'bouquets' of cow parsley and willowherb at various places around the track to give them something else to look for.
