Lots of pics!!! See picture gallery for them!!!!....

i was there over the summer for the trailblazers 2nd round and it wasn't too bad, ok not quite Patchetts or Norton Heath standard, but no horrific, in fact i prefer surface there to patchetts as patchetts gets too deep i feel.

well done on your result, thats fab

Thanks guys

Well...in my personal opinion, the indoor surface was very bad. There was one patch that was up the far end of the school that was down to the concrete flooring. There was a large dip and to make things worse, in order to do a quick turn for the jump off, you couldnt avoid it

I didnt go for time, just f ro double clear, so it was ok for me, but some areas were quite deep.

My sisters connie nearly fell when he hit it though, because there was no surface under him and his backlegs went and he only just got up in time to jump the first part of the double. Bless him!

The out door wasnt too bad though. A few wet patches, but thats all.

Thanks for the update - the surface has been bad for years, so they obviously don't intend to do anything about it.

I'd be wetting myself if it was down to the concrete!!

well done!! Was there Sunday with a friend also. We both had a stopitis day!! My old boy stopped at the last in the jump off, second part of the double, silly old thing!! I turned him tight, he gave me that but said stuff off I'm way off for the second part lol!!

I always enjoy it tho, he makes me laugh these days!!

Malthouse, we have another name for it lol

Warm up is better than a few years ago but very heavy sand type stuff, and yep when it rains hard it doesnt drain too quickly. Indoor school was positively dangerous at the last one in october, big hole down the end, my friends very foot sure 14.2hh actually slipped over, then recovered in time to complete a very fast jump off, good job she was nimble!!

Malthouse is in stevenage (reletively near oxford...i think!!!) lol

Hadnt heard it had a case of stangles....shows are held there all year round, BSJA, dressage, showing, etc...but i couldnt tell you if what you heard is correct. It is a nice venue, but not terrible nice looking, a bit run down, and the surfaces arent great. But parking is close to ring and next to warming up, so for winter shows, its quite nice. If you go to the picture gallery there are pics, and a bit more about the actual venue.

Go to addington if you want a good BSJA venue!!!!!! Thats in like a league of its own right now!!!!!!!!

Down the road from us and we don't go there! Would much rather travel anywhere else! Water board now own it so it seems that is their excuse not to do any work on it but they are still happy to take your money regardless of how wet and mucky it is! BSJA were using it last year but aren't at mo and BD won't go there. Well done for doing so well there anywhere else will feel like luxury!

Think im just spoilt with West Wilts... BSJA on a tue night isnt a challenge nemore tho ive been doing it for years. Love addington, and blewburys not that bad...Gracelands? not bad.
Is malthouse a good comparison to Rockhampton?
