I have a 15hh welsh D - he doesn't have a particularly long mane but he isn't a cob in the showing cob sense either! I'm not sure which of these applies? Are Welshie's more M&M than cob?

For the jumping class they have working cob and working M&M and working hunter (over 148cm) - no idea which of those he would fit in, perhaps the last?

He's a D, so you should do M&M. HOwever I have shown my D sucessfully in cob classes, but it very much depends on the judge and I suspect at Trailblazers it would not be so good. Working hunter wise again in the working M&M.

thanks - there are no welsh a,b c, d classes just M&M or Working Cob. There is also just Working Hunter (with no spec) at 2'3 - so I guess anyone can enter that! Will you get penalised for not having the full mane etc (sorry I am v ignorant about these things, first time doing it etc) also I only have a cheek snaffle - will that be a problem! I don' thave any other snaffle bits..

If it's local, no it won't be a problem to both questions. Not a lot of welsh D's tbh have 'traditional' long manes, they're 'naturally' pulled and tidied to some extent. Working cobs have to be hogged and fully trimmed, hunters need to be plaited and tails raked/pulled.

Definately enter M&M's, you'll be drowned in the normal working hunter class as will generally have 16hh+ hunter types in it. Plus, you're being judged on type and his type is m&m so stick to it I'd say :)
