Trailer camera/ reversing camera

I'm looking into a wireless trailer camera for my trailer. They are quite costly. I have read that some people have used reversing cameras as they are a fraction of the cost. It says that it automatically comes on when you put it in reverse. Does it have the option to come on when you want? It would be pretty useless if it only came on when you put it in reverse (it is to go in the trailer)

THE LAW
It is illegal for the driver to view an active cctv screen whilst driving forwards

If you want a camera which can be used to view the horses whilst driving then fine, but it must face the passenger seat for the friend/groom etc to view and NOT the driver
