What does everyone use? The horsey specific ones seem pretty expensive... Does anyone use a similar set-up but just bought from say a general electrical store? If so where did you get your system?

Thanks! Just got my trailer yesterday and definitely want to get a camera put in for peace of mind :)

Reversing camera and/or internal camera ?

If internal remember that the law states the driver must not be able to see the screen when driving

Internal camera.

Hehe, I was trying to do some googling on cameras for trailers and came up with a thread where you posted that same advice ROG. :) I didn't know that before so I shall make sure the screen is on the passenger side for them to monitor!

I have 2 cameras on different channels. One for the interior and one mounted at the back of the trailer for reversing and pulling in on a dual carriageway. The screen is therefore where I can see it.

As long as you do not select interior view when driving then that is legal

My dad is an electrician so he wired up a cheap reversing camera into the trailer so we could see the horses on the screen in the car. It's a few years old and wireless were super expensive back then. I've never needed to change it :)

A prosecutor would have to estabish that it was showing the interior and that I could see it (the mount is flexible and there is always someone in the passenger seat) to be illegal. I won't be loosing any sleep thanks!

I use a wireless car reversing camera, which is mounted inside the trailer. It is fantastic, rarely looses signal and cost a fraction of the price of the "proper" ones I looked at

I paid £35 for mine on eBay. That included camera, screen, all the wiring and the screen mount!

I have one that shows the rear of the box for reversing and a second camera inside the box. The screen in the cab is big and clear. It cost me £40 plus £15 fitting - afraid I don't know where the chap bought it but it's definitely not a horsey one
