Trailer for onroad/offroad use - possibly daft question!

Afternoon everyone!

I have nowhere to build a muckheap so I currently take muck to a friendly local allotment using a 4x4 & a largish trailer (8x4 foot I think). However, the access is not great so a few times now I have almost got wedged against a gateway or stuck in the mud. So I'm thinking perhaps a smaller trailer & more frequent trips is the way to go. However, as I am planning to buy a quad in the spring, I'd ideally like a trailer I can use on both the quad & the car so I can use the trailer for other things when it's not full of poop (roll on summer!)

Is this possible or would an offroad trailer be higher or something..?
And would you recommend a (manually) tipping trailer for a job like this or is it too hard to tip muck out so perhaps not worth the extra money?

If it is indeed possible, any suggestions of brands/where to look would be helpful. I bought my current trailer on ebay - it was a bit shabby but a bargain. However, I might not be so lucky this time around :)

Thanks all!

Oh, I'm a bit of a Bateson fan! It looks not a million miles like what we have but smaller. I hadn't thought that of course the key difference is the tyres so that was super helpful, thank you!

The Ifor Q range sounds like exactly what you're after... they state:

"The Q range trailer is a compact, convenient but robust trailer designed with both the agricultural and domestic user in mind. On road they can be pulled by the family car whilst off road they can be pulled by a quad bike or gator"

We've got a small unbraked Ifor trailer with wide (? flotation?) tyres, a ramp and high weldmesh sides. Ours is the P7 model, which would do your job, and there's a smaller one too, the P6. It's a really useful liitle trailer :)

We have a bigger one of these with higher mesh sides it’s a very useful trailer if you need to move the trailer around unhitched by human power a single axled one will move much easier .

OP if you get in touch I think I have exactly what you are looking for . will go on quad or 4x4 road legal and hydraulic tipping with mesh sides. Only issue maybe its in NE cambs.
