Hi, can anyone advise me which trailer to go for? I have a 16.2 warmblood mare, who is quite fine and compact and I can't decide whether to go for an ifor 506 or the 511. I have been hiring a 510 and she fits in this with quite a bit to spare length wise. I don't know anyone one near me who has a 506 so does anyone out there have one and travel a 16.2 please?

Hi and welcome!!

I personaly would go for the 511 - its not the length you have to worry about it the height. I think its better to have a bit more room just in case.

Hi, I would go for the 511.
My 16.2 horse squashed into a 505 without the partition and I never even got the back ramp up and his ears touched the roof. He is a MW who takes a 6' 6 to 6'9 rug.
My friend travels her 16.3 no probs in her 505 without the partition though.

Hi and thanks for the welcome! I have heard the 506 is the same height as the 511 as ifor have updated the older models which were different, its a bit of a headache to be honest, and about a £500 saving if I got the smaller model......

I have a 511 and it is fab ! great for my giant horsie !! nice trailers. As said longer as well as higher !

I wouldn't go for either, I'd go for a Bateson Deauviille or Ascot, I believe they are a much better engineered trailer in all respects & you can carry up to 17h in them, the floor is lower so the ramp slope is shallower * there are saddle racks in the front as standard.

Another vote for the Bateson Deauville. Have towed a friend's HW 16.3hh hunter a few times in my Bateson, and he has plenty of room.

He is quite squashed in the IW 505.
