I recently bought a new cheval liberte touring country trailer and have a few different questions regarding it!

Firstly, where do you tend to tie your horses up? The only tie rings I have are quite high - above the tack locker door. I took the partition out of mine and have been travelling with full breast bars and cross tie-ing to those rings but wondering if anyone had installed their own tie up rings like normal cross ties would be.

Secondly, leather head collars. I currently have a leather head collar and it is on its last legs so need a new one. I like the look of the Capella Headcollars from Lemieux but they are part leather, part fabric - would these be safe enough to travel with - it doesn't say in the description.

Lastly any tack locker organisation tips (or photos of how you organise) I am trying to make the most of the space but find the basket at the top a bit odd!

TIA :)

I had tie rings fitted to the wall next to where the horses head would go, I put my haynets on the ring on the top of the tack locker…you can basically put them wherever you want, the cheval guy did mine for me. https://cheval-liberte.co.uk/product/tie-ring-horse-hay/

I put hats, body protector, first aid kit boots etc in the basket. I have a water carrier, bucket and poop box (I have a plastic box with a lid and a mini poop scoop fork for when we are at shows and have to pick up) long boots just stand on the bottom of the tack locker. I keep things like scissors, twine, spare ropes, odds and ends in the netted bits on the door. I actually find the basket the most useful bit! Could probably fold up a small rug and put that in there too!

I askdd the chap at Cheval about tie ups. Horse should tie at the wall at either side- same as the ifor williams up there 👆🏻. Haynets can get hung on the tack locker door, apparently there’s something there.

I use a cheap leather headcollar - the logic being that a cheap one is more likely to break if it gets caught. I do like one with a flat chin clip though (the ones with the dog lead clip look like they'd be so uncomfortable for them as they're round so dig in) so that limits the selection. The last one I bought was from GS equestrian and was about £20. Granted, Wiggy is very gentle but it's still going strong after 2 years. Archie would get through one at least every 6 months, I don't know what he did to them.

I think it was this one but obviously the price has gone up since I bought it

The HY one on there is a bit cheaper and looks very similar.
