If you hire a trailer what happens if someone doesnt bring it back. Most of the trailer hire companies i see done offer insurance with the hire you do it at your own risk or sort yuor own insurance. Most also say £50 deposit and 2 utility bills. Was just wondering though what if your hirer doesnt bring the box back. do the hiring company still insure it themselves and claim off thier own insurance? do they come after throguh small claims courts or what??? or do they have total loss insurance??

Been having a fairly similar converstation with NFU.

I wanted to have insurance to cover any trailer I tow, but they won't cover it. They say that the person/company who owns the trailer has to insure it against loss, etc.

So, I'm guessing that if the trailer didn't come back, the company that hired it would go to their insurance company.

One thing though, check that your car insurance covers anything you're towing in terms of third party damage that you/it might do.
