Hi all,

Those of you who have a trailer, who do you ensure it with? And roughly how much do you pay?

Also, what breakdown cover do you have for your car? I am already with the AA, but now I have bought a trailer, do I need to get a different cover with someone else for when the trailer is attached?

Sorry if this has been asked a thousand times already! Most of the threads I have looked at seem to refer to 3.5 and 7.5T boxes rather than trailers.

Thanks :)

I insure with KBIS as an add on to my horse policy . £90 a year.

I'm with the RAC and the trailer is covered with PRP through the RAC. Costs £45 on top of my normal RAC cover. You do need to cover the trailer though as the RAC/AA are not licensed transporters and so can't do anything with the horses. They'd have to tow your car and leave your horses on the trailer on the side of the road

PRP are these folk :)

I have the trailer insured through Scottish Equestrian Insurance Services. It costs about £100 for £2500 cover. I already had breakdown cover with the AA so I got trailer cover added with the Organisation of Horsebox and Trailer owners for £49.
