I'm picking up my new trailer (Ifor 510) on Friday and will need to sort out insurance. Which companies can anyone recommend? My horse is covered by NFU and I'll be checking with them what trailer cover they offer. Also has anyone received discount due to safety measures in place ie. wheel clamp, hitch lock, Farmkey roof coding. Cheers.

my trailer is insured by nfu, but i lost my mare on christmas eve and they have told me that when the claim is complete they can no longer insure the trailer without a horse!!

Hi there !
I have an Ifor Williams 505 (2005 model) I am insured with Equestrian Direct.
Never had a problem with them. I pay £140 a year, it's covered fire, theft and any damage.
It's got a wheel clamp on it.
This is there number 01494 833200.

Hope they can help.

I'm also looking to get trailer insurance - my friend has her horse + trailer insured with NFU and is around £40 per month in total so I'm hoping it will be the same if I add my trailer on to my policy.

Another vote for NFU, they are fab. I had my Ifor 510 with them, when it got stolen they paid out without problems. My new Equitrek is insured with them as well as all my horses.

Thanks for your recommendations. Just been on to NFU and all sorted for £100.
