Trailer Insurance

Hello All!

Can anyone help with suggestions for trailer insurance? We have been with the same company for the past 3 years & they are pretty expensive. Based on what I have read on here, I noted that RAC do a great recovery service for £45 a year. This is versus £78 from current company. Just wondered who was competitive for insurance against theft? Trailer has both wheel clamp, and very secure hitch lock (concreted into the ground). All suggestions greatly appreciated !

My trailer is insured with IPG Insurance Protector Group, but again its not cheap but what insurance is? The car insurance for my son aged 17 has gone crazy.

I@ve just gone with datatag. Gave 15% discount as the trailer is tagged.

Thanks both. I'll have a look. It was quoted (with recovery) at £324 from current insurer. Not sure how it compares with yours. Just thought it was dear when my 54 plate Kia Sorento is £380 per year - going 16000 miles per year. I know it is completely different when you look at rates of trailer theft, but thought it would be worth shopping around!

Without recovery I paid approx £75 for insurance on my 510 Ifor and this was just a bit less than NFU so definately shop around!!

I'm with Stoneways. I have a 506 and it was much cheaper than anywhere else I found.

I insure my Ifor 505 with Anthony Evans and its around £78 a year. This doesn't include breakdown.
