Just a quickie question .... who do you guys insure your trailers with? We have just acquired a very nickable Ifor. It has a wheel lock and hitch lock, and will be locked behind gates in the yard, but obviously we still need to insure it :) Advice please.

I got a quote for £80 per year from the NFU for a new trailer. It is kept next to the house and has a wheel lock and a hitch lock and I am thinking of also investing in an alarmed chain. I don't often have new things and I don't want this to go missing.

Mine is insured with NFU. I also insure the tow vehicle with them, which means the trailer cover is much cheaper. I have a wheel lock and hitch lock, my husband parks his old Landie in front of it, AND they are behind a locked gate. They are very stealable things. Make sure you get it data-tagged and put your postcode all over it.

Thanks, I think I'll have to phone NFU, they don't make it very findable on the website. My car however is on an Admiral Multicar policy and the horses are with Petplan, so I don't have any NFU credits to cash in! This is actually more difficult than I thought it would be.
