trailer issues

Hi folks

I was just wondering if anyone has experienced any wheel bearing problems on their trailers as I had a wheel fall off at the weekend and trying to get to the bottom of why it might have happened (and no i didn't hit a kerb!!)
any comments greatly appreciated!

when you say the wheel came off, was the wheel brake drum attached to the wheel? or had the wheel nuts sheared off? or was it that the spilt pin and wheel bearing nut sheared off or just come undone ?

Make & age of trailer? What exactly has come off, just wheel, entire hub? When was it last serviced? You've not really given enough information to coment really?

well don't want to name the make of trailer as having issues with the company over this but its only 5 months old and had a service in february. the wheel hub snapped off- wheel itself is fine and nuts all tight etc. the company are saying that i must have kerbed it but i haven't ever kerbed it (i have my class 2 and do know how to drive). they said its happened a couple of times and every time its been 'proven' to be the driver having kerbed it so i'm trying to find out as much as i can before i contact a solicitor. they are having their guys have a look at the axle but i'm going to get an independent check if they still come back saying i've kerbed it.
