How do you clean right down behind the mudguards, any ideas, maybe a brush of some kind?

Major clean completed,isnt washing up liquid with a touch of vinegar wonderful!
Trailer looks like new.
Husband wound a piece of old towel round a bamboo stick, have managed to get most of the gunk off behind the mudguards.
Any suggestions for next time?

Well done hubby!
Sorry no advice hear as we only have an ancient old lorry and there's no way I'm going near the mudguards.
(very much struggling not to do a "double entendre" about men knowing what to do with a big stick and a rag
)
