Hi all
I'm getting my new 505 in a few weeks and am just thinking about storage and organisation.
I'll keep my saddle in my car but would like to store things like poop scoop, buckets , a few rugs maybe, in the trailer. I'll only be travelling one so will have the left side free for storage.
How do people store and travel stuff like this in the trailer ? Just looking for ideas
The trailer is being rebuilt for me so I should be able to ask for things like fixing points to be added in if need be.

Thanks in advance

I hate having anything 'extra' in the trailer if I can help it, because I worry that if the worst happens and it tips over, there would be all this extra stuff flying around.

I do tie down a water container in the nose if I have to.

However, if you can get secure, easy to use fixings, then it should be OK. I'm sure the builer would have some ideas.

I wouldn't have anything in it that didn't need to be there. Too much that can move or go wrong. A friend and I went to a weekend camp, she took a wheelbarrow and a tonne bag of haylage with her and put it in the spare side of trailer. It was secured down as well as could be to stop any movement. I put tools etc in binbags and they went in my car. The only thing that can really go in safely is something that fits in the nose of the trailer like a tack pack or water cannister.

I have a folding steps (like these https://www.amazon.co.uk/KADAX-Alum...ords=three+step+ladder&qid=1683719802&sr=8-42 ) in the nose with a bungy around it to hold it in place. A standard poop scoop is the perfect width to sit inside the feet of the steps, which hold it in place. I should take a photo as I keep describing it to people and I'm not sure I manage it well! That's all I have in the trailer, everything else goes in the car. I have put a wheelbarrow in the nose and bungy tied it when I've been to camp but I try not to as I'd hate to think what could happen if it fell under their feet.

I used to tie a water container into the very front with elastic bungees, that was all though.

We have a Cheval Liberte tourer trailer now with a built in tack locker which is amazing...I keep tack, buckets, poop bucket, riding gear and all sorts in mine! Game changer!

I have a set of folding steps, a bucket, something to pick up poop and a water carrier (in the bucket) in the nose of my 505 - wedged in by the weight of the water carrier and also bungeed through the bucket/water carrier to the trailer, anything else goes in the car - if I don't need any of the above I take them out!

I was thinking of putting some cargo netting on the spare side and putting a poop scoop in there- has anyone done this?
I now realise that it's not ideal to have stuff in there just in case you have an accident so thought just that and possible water in the "nose"

I have a mini short handed poop scoop with the rake bit & brush inside a trug (for said poo) & a water carrier, both attached to the front with bungees around their handles. Behind them then pinned, mini foldable steps. Nothing moves but I wouldn't want anything else in there.
