Just a quick word of advice to trailer owners, if after use you back your trailer into a storage space rember to pull foward a foot or two before unhitching to free off the auto reverse brakes especialy if you not gona use again for awhile.
Plus try to leave parked with handbrake off (chock wheels to stop moveing)

just thought id say after haveing to free off stuck on brakes on couple of friends trailers which havent been used in awhile

I always do both of these things, but my trailer brakes still stuck on recently after only sitting for a week! I think it was a combination of the rain/cold we've been having. It was serviced very recently and brakes were declared to be like new with no rust, so shouldn't be a mechanical fault.

I gave myself a big bruised nail too when thumping the hub with a metal rod to free it up.

Ow! Is there a safer way to free them up?! I just thump it a few times with a big metal rod and you can hear it go "clunk" and shift slightly, so know it's unseized, but if there's an easier way I'd like to hear it!

afraid as far as im aware there no easierway of doing it, just brute force.if trailer not long been serviced it could be because they adjusted the breaks up and they binding abit, should settle down with some use but do check they not continuing to bind
 
when my wheels used to lock up i'd drive my trailer through the village (well drag it as wheels not working- don't worry not very far!) and then i'd drive over the cattle grid like a mad woman and the wheels would bump free!! ah...happy memories!

wouldnt recomend driveing with wheels locked up, could wear flat spots on the tyres and then it would be expensive!

At least with all the mud around, it's easy for me to pin point which wheel isn't turning- it's the one that's still dry under the wheel arch while all the others are muddy!!!

How ironic that the service may make it worse for a little while! I love my little trailer really though.
