So, I have a lovely little single/mare&foal cheval trailer. Having recently moved from a yard 9.5miles (and a 35minute drive) away, to my own (rented) field a 30second walk from my house; I am without a space to park it.

I have contacted in excess of 20 people/yards/farmers/caravan sites/'spotted' fb pages, with no luck. My poor trailer is currently sofa-surfing from friends driveway, to friends driveway, without a home to call its-own, it is currently in a private space on the side of a friends house but her house is up for sale and soon I will need to move it once more. It's causing me a great deal of stress.

Has anyone else found themselves in this situation? And how did it resolve? Does anyone have any other ideas for me to try?

I really don't want to sell it, as it took us a long time to find and it really is a great setup for both myself and my partner (who uses it to transport his off-road bikes), but in short of parking it on the road totally illegally, invalidating all insurances and praying to the demi-gods that it doesn't get stolen/vandalised, I really don't know what else to do :(

Can you park it on the field?
Sadly not. Was the first thing we thought of.
It's a strange setup and access is via a narrow ('only just' wide enough for my kia sorrento) lane which turns into a footpath (of footpath width) and opens up onto my field. Even hay deliveries are something to behold and involve drop offs at the top of the lane and barrowing small square bales one by one.

nowhere around you does caravan storage? I had to pay for storage for mine for a while-upside was that it was very secure but it wasnt cheap. Otherwise I would stick a wanted ad up on local FB pages-horsey, farming and otherwise.

Yep, I was going to suggest caravan storage but find a place that's not near a river, or in a valley. I've just lost my caravan in the floods. Storage isn't overly expensive, I pay £1 per day and it's on a CCTV, barrier controlled (albeit now flooded) site.

Your insurance will be cheaper if it's on a secure storage site as well, which might go towards paying for the storage.

Hmm. This is a tricky one. What about local businesses / organisations with yards - maybe they may have a corner you could use? Otherwise, you could print off a load of flyers and put them through letterboxes of properties that look like they have enough land to accommodate your trailer. Maybe emphasise the point you are willing to pay, and it will be insured by you etc and people may be a bit more forthcoming.

Good luck in you search.

I'm on a group "Celebrating Smallholding UK" and I see there is one for Derbyshire. Might be worth posting on there. I had someone wanting a barn to park their horsebox in for the winter.

Is there a local scout, guide, air cadets group that have a space and want to earn a 'donation' to their organisation? Haulage company here, http://www.scottsheavyhaulage.co.uk/ and here, https://www.allegrotransport.co.uk/ and here, Castlewood Business Park, Farmwell Lane, South Normanton, Alfreton, Derbyshire DE55 2JX. If you type 'caravan storage DE55' into google maps you will get about 20 possibles, including one that does car storage.

Good shout on the scout etc thing.
I've tried 4/5 caravan storage places DE55 locality, none have space.
I know of the car storage place... Funny story. I phoned up for a quote on storing the trailer 'do you know what we do?' says the guy. Turns out, extra secure temp controlled units. I think more for the ferrari owner. Pmsl.

There are yards local to you that might have space. Not been that way in a while, but there's a yard the west side of the M1 that has (or at least had) a lot of space.
Phoned up the 6 yards in the locality (including the one you speak of) - batemans, and they say parking only for liveries or they don't have space.

Well that's a bobber. I know of two places that certainly used to have them, but they're further south than you are (near jnc.s 25/26). Any good?

I used to know someone with some land roughly-ish in your neck of the woods. She's not horsey but she might be interested. I can drop her a line if you want.

Sure is!! Noone seems willing, inspite of my willingness to be respectful and pay.
We have a farmer closeby whom we buy hay from, but even he isn't willing to have it on his place as he says it's 'junked up enough' :(
j25/26 is becoming too far away, yeah... I work that way on and it's a good hours drive. Thankyou though.

Your friend I would be grateful for!! It's worth a shot at this stage!
