Hi all

I need to sell my trailer ASAP. It is a Bateson Ascot, blue stripe not yellow. It is very, very lightly used (I would guess it has been used circa 20 times), but does have some marking to the one interior wall and there is a little foam missing from one of the breast bars. I also have full length breast and rear bars in case of travelling without partitions. It was bought new, by me, in March 07.

Any quick ideas of pricing?

Thank you.

Actually, whilst I am at it - has the horse market picked up? Looks likely I am going to have to sell Ted ASAP too, ho hum.

Oh no whats happend?

I have no idea on your trailer, but I sold my Bateson Deuville a year ago for £2200 and that was about 9 years old.
Id LOVE another Bateson, but Im poor aswell :0(

Im pretty sure the horse market is still bad at the mo.

What HASN'T happened! Money owed to me not paid, am totally broke, my father died on Friday and I have expenses and now have no money to pay them as the cheques paid into my account have been returned. I have to find money NOW. And, quite frankly ML, I just think it would be easier to sell the lot, get a job (I cannot have a horse and a job and children, I know people do it, and I bow down to them, but I am not that dedicated and if I cannot compete then no point in having a horse) - then at least I know there is money coming in. My husband has been adamant that I don't work but I just have to now.

So if anyone knows of any work around my area that would be very helpful too :D

BBs, if he has to go he has to go, not an awful lot I can do about it, but trailer first, might win the lottery tonight :)

Oh Louise, what a giant pile of poo!!
I am SO sorry to hear about your Dad ((((HUGS))))

I reckon put your trailer up for £3000 and see what happens.
I dont think you'll have a problem selling it, coz there are LOADS of lorries for sale at the moment becuase people cant afford them and are buying trailers. PLUS, it is really hard to find a trailer for big horses at the moment!

xxx

i bought a Bateson Ascot in Feb, i think its about 6/7yrs old, in great condition. it was advertised for £3,250, i paid £3k. if you are looking for a quick sale then you should get £3k easily!

sorry to hear about your Dad and that things are not looking good for you money wise :(

sorry to hear about your dad.

regarding the trailer, has it got bigger dimensions than an Ifor 510?

If so please PM me details as my 17.2hh 4yro (in 7'3ft rugs) doesn't fit in our 510 and not sure my finances stretch to a lorry.

Sadly, the Ascot is suitable for horses up to 17hh....

I bought my Ascot 2 yrs ago for £2350. It was 5 yrs old and bit more wear and tear, but has the Boston doors.

Pop it up for £2950 and see what happens.

My 17hh+ goes fine in mine, together with another horse as well. However he is long but 6ft9 - 7ft rugs. However, if you travel alone am pretty sure yours would be fine as he could stand herringbone.

Dimensions can be found on Bateson website :)

Thanks galaxy :)

My OH's 17.1h, 6ft9 rugs travels happily in my Ascot.

I paid £2k for mine about 7 years ago, as a 2-3 year old trailer - total bargain as friend needed rid NOW!

I would suggest around £2750/3k if you need it gone quickly.

Sorry to hear of your problems....

As for the trailer, well, they all hold their value crazily. At 3 years old i'd say knock enough off the price of a new one to make it interesting...maybe the VAT and another 10%....sorry to be a bit vague but i don't know how much yours are new :p

I just bought a 7yo Equitrek for £4k....it was about £6.5k new. It is 'as new' though. I was looking at 510's as well...and people were asking £3250 to £3500 for 3,4 and 5yo models and older. The best deal i could get on a new one from a dealer was about £4400.

No idea on trailer prices, just wanted to say I really do hope things improve for you Weezy, sorry to hear about your father too :(

Sorry to hear your sad news about your dad Weezy *hugs*, I remember your kind message to me when my dad was ill and you mentioned yours then.

I think the trailers hold their value - mines a deauville and is 2008 but when I bought it I got it new as the older ones were still quite high price and OH thought we might as well get new. I'd work back from your starting price and knock about 500 - 700 off, after all it is only 3 years old.

This is interesting,i've always kept my eye on your trailer posts as i too have a Bateson,i will be selling it in the future when i get a Equitrek but have decided to keep it for a bit longer,i have had 4 people ask me if i would sell it! My boss offered me 3k for mine the other day for her daugthers new pony (she's a vet and minted and they live 3 doors up from my yard!) Mine i think was made in 2002 but is in fab condition. You would easily get 3k for it love,if i was you i would put it on for £3250 for a quick sale, more if you had time. I can understand the **** your in,am going through similar problems, lifes so hard sometimes. 1 of my horses is off being prepared for sale (has broken my heart) and one of my others ones is ill and not looking good. Work is going wrong,my new house is falling through by the looks of things and my relationship is looking similar, death in the family also, anything else...............am waiting! Good luck Weezy x
