hi all, got a old bahill rear unload trailer , need a rear cover the one above the ramp tarpaulin type thing , searched everywhere with no luck ! any idears ? many thanks .

Ive done myself it for 2 trailers
I bought some material from a company called point north (online shop), in one case had the old one to work from, with the other made a template from cardboard and worked from that. I then sewed it on a sewing machine myself. I bought the popper hole things and did that too. Its actually quite easy to do yourself if you have a sewing machine that will take a thicker fabric and the proper needle? Its a few years on and I know one is still going strong!!

thanks iconique , very interesting website , think I will give it a go when I can get my head round it ! got a good cobbler near us he has a tidy sewing machine if I get the bits bet he can do it for us ! kind regards Richard , [had some really good idear's of you guys ] thanks all .

Press studs are the popper hole things.
I have loads, I use trade suppliers but you can get them from ebay and you'll need and anvil and punch to insert them.
Use lorry cover (pvc covered polyester sheet) here's a good supplier, I buy loads in to make cable parachutes and trailer covers for a 530-630 gsm weight would be ideal for what you want it for.
It's waterproof and as tough as old boots, the parachutes I make come down on tarmac and 60 mph so it has to be tough.

Here's a 30 foot x 6 foot trailer cover made out of it!
Was like fighting with a 30 lb giant toilet roll laying on your lap trying to feed it through the sewing machine, that's 60 feet of hemming!

If you want to make your own and need any help just ask, Oz

thanks oz, that's very interesting , that sure is some cover! [lovely job ] will let u know how I get on when I can get round to it ! kind regards Richard.

I've just refurbed our Bahill as well. For the top partition we bought some ply which I have sealed and painted. Bought some car door trim to put around the rim on the trailer to make a seal and husband added the same type of catches that open the doors and ramps (don't know their official name, sorry) A couple of handles so that I can lift it off when I'm using the trailer and away we go..... No sewing needed :D (I killed my sewing machine mending one too many horse rugs :'( )
