I am currently borrowing my YO's trailer to go to competitions but am looking into getting my own. The problem is my horse is a 17.2 ISH so he won't fit into the conventional Ifor 510, etc.
I am currently transpporting him in a Richardson Treble, which, although it is a fantastic trailer, is a bit too big! Ideally I would like either a single trailer to take just him, or a slightly smaller trailer that will take a 17.2 and a 16hh (which I occasionally compete for the YO). What are your recommendations?

My 18h1" Shire mare fits comfortably in an Ifor Williams 510. She's got quite a long neck and wide bottom. I always use the breeching bar, which is a bit of a tight fit, because I don't want her leaning on the ramp door.

I have an acquaintance who sometimes travels two 18h Shire stallions in a 510. If I were going to replace my 510, I'd definitely go for the new 511. I believe all the door/window hinges are stainless steel and the front window allows a view into the trailer from the towing vehicle.

Hope this helps.

511 is bigger and roomier than the 510. It fitted the big 17hh Hw hunter plus friend EASILY. I'd be amazed if he didn't fit into a 511, even with a high head carriage.
