Trailer reversing frustration!! :(

best advice is dont over think it (half turn wheel/full lock etc) just turn the steering wheel a bit and have a play. use your mirrors rather than looking out the window or over your shoulder.

With vonvex mirrors many get a false perception of what so looking out definitely helps - I have been reversing artics and trailers for years and I still look out when I am not exactly certain that the convex mirror view is telling me what I want to know

Also you to have all round checking or you will fail the reverse element anyway lol

Haven't read all the replies so apologies if this has been said before, my mate who's a HGV driver taught me instead of trying to work out what goes where when you need to turn left or right whilst reversing, simply hold the bottom of the steering wheel so you don't have to think in opposites if you struggle with that.
Simply means by holding the bottom middle of the wheel if you need to go right you pull the wheel to the right and not in the opposite direction as when you hold the top of the wheel (if that makes sense)and it works!
