for an ifor williams 505. hasnt been done for a couple of years .how much for the basics if no extra work needed. also how often would you recomend having it done. trailer used most weeks often more all year round.

I have mine done annually - electrics, floor, tyres and actual towing gear all checked by a guy who does the lorries in the yard - charged me £60 last year and I use mine most weeks too.

I had my 510 done a couple of months ago, it hadn't been done for a couple of years but had nothing major to attend to, it cost me just under £100 including VAT. They said every two years was OK for moderate use.

Had our 2004 505 trailer serviced by scott trailers at walcott, didn't need anything done other than service, but impressed they only charged £45 & you could clearly see they had greased everything & even secured rubber seal (the one at the front ramp where horse would rub against it on exiting & it would always pop out) they secured it with plastic tie things & we hadn't even mentioned it to them.

I paid just under £100 last month for service of 2003 HB505 and rerubbering of back doors, had a wash too and looks like new now

There's a place at Wellingore that does services. I think it was £50.

However, I am lucky cos there's an old guy who works around our yard and does all the servicing of trailers, lorries etc.

He did mine a few weeks ago and charged £10 !

make sure you find out what type of service you are getting, ie a full or half. a full service has the hubs removed etc and everything peoperly looked at, make sure whereever it is serviced at is NTTA approved. I got mine done at universal (west sussex , in billingshurst) for £120 and they always do my trailer and let me know of any additional costs by phone if any before continuing with any work.
