trailer test (essex)

hi im in the process of buying a trailer (yipee)

and im going to have to do my trailer test can anyone recommened a place to do it in essex?

anyone done it? was it hard easy?

the other thing is i passed in a manual but i have always driven a automatic so wouldnt feel comfy driving a manual can i drive my test in an auto? as that is what i will be towing in.

Hi again! i did mine a few years ago in Canvey Island - i did a crash course and a test at the end ( the test was at Purfleet) and it cost roughly £700 all in using their jeep and trailer etc and it was 4 hours a day driving.
I wont say it was hard but you had to know what you were doing to pass so you had to 1st reverse across a car park through cones and land in a specified area. Emergency stop, unhitch and driveway then reverse back (with only one check by yourself) and rehitch and then approx 40 min drive around motorways and normal roads etc. No real difference to my car test but i did feel the examiner was pretty easy going and a few very minor things they didnt pick up on which i thought they would have.
 
This is the same place i used. Fella who owns it is called Nick, and his mobile is 07771667768. I will say i failed mine twice!! But don't think they can be blamed for that. Think they are called RSM?
