Just wanted to recommend someone to you all. Yesterday I passed my trailer test on the second attempt. I had the most amazing instructor. Kevin Parker school of motoring.
He was brilliant in every way and very reasonably priced.
The reason it took me two attempts was because I am an idiot not him. I had two minors on my first and an idiot major. The only way Kevin could have helped me pass on my first attempt was if he had sat the test for me.lol. Yesterday I passed with 3 minors! This guy is brill. I had only ever towed once before properly accept for around the farm. If anyone wants his details feel free to PM me. And no I am not on commission. lol

Oh and FYI the trailer test is changing very soon to a laden trailer which will put costs of tuition and tests up!

I travelled over an hour to get instruction from Kevin and would a 100% recommend him to anyone!
 
Hi Dizzy it was meant to change at the end of THIS September but I think it may now be the end of November. The trailer will have to carry at least 600kg or most likely a full IBC container!
Obviously this increases the wear and tear of vehicle and trailer plus increases fuel costs and breaking distances etc so costs of it all will go up!
 
Well done on passing, out of interest (and hopefully to help others) which bit of the training/test did you find the hardest? The reverse/drive or hitch/unhitch?
 
Well done on passing and good on you for spreading a happy story rather than a miserable one for a change :D

I passed second time too and weirdly had two minors and a stupid major in my first test too! I pulled out on a RA when I shouldn't have. Got it second time though :)

Well I failed first time on the hitch and unhitch but because I'm an idiot not because its hard. lol.

In all honesty I found the driving normally and my nerves the hardest thing to cope with. I don't normally consider myself a nervy person but I was a total wreck! Hated every minute of it!
