Trailer tyre pressures

I was pretty shocked when I questioned OH about trailer tyre pressure - he is in charge of the maintenance side of things!! He thought an Ifor Williams 510 would be 35 psi. Its actually 65 psi which is nearly double.

Yep, it's scarily high, isn't it. However, this only refers to the original tyres as fitted to the trailer from new. Many older trailers have had their original van specification tyres replaced with car tyres, which need a much lower pressure. This is why OP needs to inflate to the pressure recommended on the tyres themselves.

There have been a few instances of people inadvertently grossly over inflating their trailer tyres by mistaking a car tyre for a van tyre.....
