Morning. I currently have a Bateson trailer, had it several years and horse happy to load generally (this took some work in the early days). He's ok travelling as long as you're moving but kicks like a git when stopped. I would really like a 3.5tn but worry he might not go on it or travel well. Has anyone experienced problems going from trailer to 3.5tn? Any experience of a better travel/load? I don't have anyone I know who has one I could try and limited options to hire locally ☹️. Thanks for any feedback

I have not known any that can't be trained to like a 3.5t, but some do need 'training' to understand the loading if they have never had to turn at the top of the ramp before. Especially if the ramp is on the near side, where you are leading from the less common side.

I tend to mock up a box and practice the movements first. I also open the box right up with both partitions open to start, so they can get off the slope at least with the fronts, before turning.

Yes, hiring one if you are not sure is a good thing to do.

I have had trailer, 3.5, 7.5 and a 12.5, as well as driven big 18T 6 horse ones professionally, and I love my little 3.5t one most of all for useablility and horse comfort.
