As herbert is coming to uni with me i went up to the area my uni is in last weekend and sorted livery out, but as i'd only ever driven there from brighton i didnt quite realise just how far harper is from london (4hrs traffic was abit of a pig tho).

it got me a thinking that its a bit harsh to ask my mates to take me all that way in their lorry.

so got to a talking with ma and she's agreed i can get a mode of transport for me and the sherb.

so basically its the age old argument of trailer vs lorry.

i would have the money to get a brand new trailer or a old old lorry lol

being a spoilt madam i want a lorry mwhahaha but mum is defiently swaying towards a trailer, but i'm just worried about the fact he'd be travelling in a trailer for anywhere between 3-5hrs

wat you reckon?

I would have a newish trailer over oldish lorry anyday, unless you have a small fortune in cash to spend on keeping aging lorry roadworthy.....

If you get a lorry then it will be your only method of transport and very expensive to run. If you get a trailer then you'll have a nice car to drive around in too.

well i'd still have my little car either way, if i got a lorry i would be able to drive it if i had too, where if i got a trailer i wouldnt be towing it at all my stepdad would.

I has the lorry Vs trailer decision recently and went for a lorry. It was cheaper to buy an old basic lorry than replace my Yaris (which I barely use as I cycle to work) and buy a trailer.

I now also get the fun of "pimping my ride". The alloy wheels 1st, then the bodykit, spoiler and kicking sound system

Lorries are great if you have more than one horse. Otherwise a trailer is more cost efficient. I have a trailer but have had a lorry. I now only transport one horse and a trailer is far better for the distances I go. But if I was competing every weekend and travelling vast distances Id have a lorry! If you dont want to use your transport at least every other weekend then go for a trailer. If you buy a good secondhand one you wont lose much if you decide you need a lorry later.

Just a thought, if your going to uni i assume you are late teens? So you do know you would have to take an extra license for a lorry unless you get a 3.5t? You would need one for aa trailer too, but obvioulsy not if your step dads pulling it.

mum's decided i cant have a lorry

and i'd only be using it to get him to and from uni so yeh it makes more sense to get a trailer i'm just being spoilt and want a lorry lol

i am worried about him travelling lost distance in a trailer tho
