My old trailer that I am refurbing has jo weight plate on it. It is an old sinclair pony trailer. The smallest one they made.
I know they are fairly lightweight to start with and it will probably now end up even lighter with a new modern floor and walling being put in. I purchased it because I am limited on my towing weights.
My question is. Do I need to get a weight plate made? Is it law?

You need to contact the trailer manufacturer to have a plate made - that is the only legal way to get one

If the manufacturer is no longer trading then the total of the load ratings on the tyres will be deemed as the MAM for the authorities

Unladen weight is easy to get - just take it empty to a weighbridge

Are you towing on a B or B+E licence?
