Trailer wheel lock - stuck fast

I went to put my wheel lock on my trailer last night, and it appears to have malfunctioned

It's one of those locks that you have to slot both legs in, and then press the button. It would appear that when I locked it last night, the right leg was not quite all the way in, but the button went in anyway. Now I cannot get it unlocked - one leg is stuck fast, although I have been able to manhandle it off my trailer.

Does anyone have any ideas? The lock is only a year old, and cost nearly £100

Try some WD 40 in the ratchet and locing mechanism and try again after 10 minutes.

That happened to me once i had to still saw it off

I had trouble with my locks after the summer when they had been on for a couple of months!! Have oiled them well and truely now!!

Hate these locks since mine did this 200 miles from home when we stopped in a service station.

Only got it off after a kindly lorry driver hit it with a hammer, the lock was unlocked but wouldnt pop out.
Try this if the WD40 fails, good luck.

Lorry drivers are very good at sorting problems like IW brakes locked up etc
