My trailer, IW 505, isn't used so much these days for transporting. I kept it reasonably clean and has been washed out regularly, including the sides (inside) but over winter, the rubber covered bars and the padded sided have got mould on them.
In the past I have washed and scrubbed them down with a mild solution of Milton to try to kill the spores but it has come back.
Anyone got any tips on how to get rid of it??

I guessed it was going to be an IW before I opened the post ;)

I think there have been some posts on here about this problem.

Flash Spray with bleach? I cleaned out mine (more that green stuff in my trailer) which had built up over about 3 years with Flash spray sometime in August, then basically abandoned the trailer in the field over the autumn/winter with the back top doors open. It hasn't come back. :)

Just a bucket of hot water, a microfibre cloth and the spray bottle, nothing else.

I think there was a problem with the first batch of the new type. I vaguely remember people saying to contact IW. We have had a 510 from new for six years and have never had any problems with mould.

yes I think it was happening a lot with the new styles a while back, and IW recalled some (?) and treated some trailers for mould. Its pretty dim in my memory but I remember quite a lot of mould posts on here, but I didnt take proper notice as I dont have and dont plan to get a IW.

It was the first batch of 506 and 511's.The mould was on the roof and sides (internal)..My 511 was recalled for mould in January 2009.It went back to the main dealer who treated the problem..It went mouldy again within 2 weeks. It went back and was treated again and the mould has never returned..It was a chemical that was used in the paint that reacted thus causing the problem. All parts of the Ifor Williams trailers are made elsewhere and sent to Wales to all be put together and shipped out.
