Been looking for a trailer since selling lorry have a £1500 budget looked a quite a few ifor 505 and to be honest I wouldn't put my dog in them never mind horses what do you have? The rice trailers whilst look older are solid and cheaper

Had a cheval liberte one which was very good but one of the side pannels had started to rot when we sold it (about 7 years old). But a good solid trailer which was light and horses were very comfortable in it.

Rice all the way

I've got a rice Beaufort 60, it must be 20 years old but tows the best and most stable of anything I've ever towed

I'm not sure what the market is like in the UK, but at a £1500 budget I'm not surprised you can't find a decent trailer that's safe. I'd be looking to increase your budget to get a more decent trailer (although I'm sure good ones at that price exist, just a bit harder to find). Otherwise you could end up having a hefty repair bill at some point.

IW trailers are the best IMO as they really hold their value, and are definitely easier to sell on.

I'm a Rice fan and have a lightweight Europa, believed to be late 1990s. Whilst they don't look modern, they are a better build quality, have the front ramp on the left for possible unloading on the road (onto the verge rather than into the traffic) and due to the Avonride suspension, are a more comfortable ride for the horse

If you can up your budget a bit, look at the Fautras Provan range. I got mine off Preloved for £2000. They are virtually indestructable so hold their value extremely well.

I have a good solid Ifor Williams 505, it's 20 years old but has had a new floor and new brakes in the last 6 months. I paid just over £2k for it last month. It needs new wheels and tyres and a couple of small bits before I can put the boys in it but it was a good buy because the body's in such good condition.

Cheval or Fautras, they are modern lightweight trailers with more thought to suspension and the ride they give the horse. Just because there are lots of iFor's around doesn't make them the best :)
