Trailers with living other than equitrec

Does anyone have any recommendations for a trailer with basic living - just need seat/bed and somewhere cleanish to change and some storge space (hob/fridge totally optional, don't want/need grill/oven)
I really like the look of the equitrec trailers but very dubious about build quality (I've seen a LOT of issues from others, and the independant engineer locally that services trailers will bearly touch them).
Only need to transport 1-2 horses, car can tow 2.2t.
Ideally 2nd hand as have ok but not huge budget.
 
Ifor Williams make the Eventa but it's pretty heavy - ranging from about 1800kg to 2000kg depending on the model. To be honest I think you might struggle to tow a trailer with living and two horses on a 2.2t capacity.
The Equitrek Show Trekka is considerably lighter at 1240kg so you could get away with that depending on the size and weight of the horses but the living is small and you don't want one anyway!
 
The older equitreks have better build quality IMHO. i wouldn't want a newer one, but I had a sporttreka which was fab. (the ones with the pointy nose) and they seem to be going up in value.

I would say you might struggle towing with your current car though. Mine was 3000kg laden weight so really you need a decent 4x4 to tow it.
 
Wessex do a custom trailer called a Pegasus, often used as horse ambulances. They will configure it how you want with as much or as little living as you need.
Its build quality is better than the Equitrek and it’s more conventional looking, but you would still need a 4x4 to tow with.
 
STX do one and do have a UK stockist, but I think they'd be overweight (I imagine they are intended for pulling behind their horseboxes). The Fautras Olympus has living, but I'm not sure they still make it (but I've seen them secondhand). I imagine it would be heavy too.

I know Westfalia, Steinsberger and Vans Barbot do them, but I don't know if you can get any of them in the UK.
 
You'd need a car which can tow more than 2.2Kg for a start. When I was looking at trailers with living I reckoned I would need a vehicle that could pull 3.5Kg to be comfortable with the horses/tack/bits & bobs etc. Like a L200. But I have horses not ponies plus one is a pretty heavy dude!
 
No way are you towing a trailer with living with 2 horses!

I have a triple trailer, plated at 1380 and weighing 1250 with no partion and stripped back. If you added living onto that then your only going to have room for 1 horse maximum at a push.

Are you sure they are still making these? I thought Wessex had given up the ghost? I had to buy mine second hand.
