trailor towing questions :D

i have a few questions about towing, i am only 18, is there a certain age that you can take your trailor test.
i havnt got a car capable of towing yet but i cant afford anything to big because of insurance prices and my work is a 20 mile round trip 5 days a week so fuel consumption would be silly, im looking for a diesel anyway coz they are better on fuel consumption in most cases. so i need a small 4x4, i was looking at either getting a 1.8 or 2lite freelander but i have heard the clutch isnt fab for towing or a 2litre rav 4. i am only going to get a single trailor as i dont need any bigger coz i only have one horse and i cant take anyone else as he will only travel on the right hand side of a double trailor anyway and i wouldnt have a car powerfull enough to tow, i know people who tow with normal cars so im assuming they would be ok. i know its got to be a % of the kerb weight of the car but that confuses me lol. if someone could give me some tips that would be great, it would be a single trailor with a 15.3 tb in it and he doesnt weigh anymore than 500 kg.

I have a single Cheval Liberte which weighs 500kg. It is towed by a Vauxhall Vectra. Cheval Liberte trailers are very stable to tow and have plenty of space inside. Our 15.2 warmblood travels extremely well in it and loads beautifully.

i have read about those, it was between a cheveral liberte and a ifor williams, the chevals are hard to come by second hand though, but so are the ifors lol. do you think a free lander or a rav would be suitable?

Batesons are good, lightweight trailers. Much lighter than Ifors. Love ours. We had towed with a vectra estate many years ago, it really depends what you want to tow though - the estate was fine for pulling one pony etc. but we got a 4x4 for towing a large horse.
