Trainees/Working Pupils - A question for Employers and Employees

Employers:
If you employ a working pupil, what is the salary you would offer them and how many hours would they be expected to work each week ... and what would the work include? What training would you offer with this? Would age affect how many hours/how much you would pay them?

Employees:
If you are a working pupil/trainee, how much do you get paid per week and how many hours do you work, what are you being given training for and what is a general day at work like? Also how old are you?

Basically I'm trying to compare my job with others who are in a similar situation to me.

Any comments much appreciated.

I was a working pupil when I was about 18/19/20 (in my summer holidays away from uni). Was at a riding school/livery yard, I got lessons 2-3 times a week, also taught some (teaching practise), got to exercise horses being brought back into work or needing schooling as well as general yard jobs; mucking out, grooming, tidying up etc. I worked from 7.30-5 with an hour and a halves lunch plus a morning and afternoon teabreak. I really enjoyed it and got paid £100 a week.
 
My girl gets £300 after tax per month, that's live out. It works out at about £5 per hour, she is 20 (not quite).
She gets 5-6 lessons a week, unlimited riding/hacking, I keep a horse for her use as she pleases as well.
If she was interested in competing I would have taken her to shows and paid her entries.
I take her out to lunch regularly, pay her extra few quid for help with sheep and cows, she can get as many eggs as she can carry and unlimited use of the dog lol (she loves my collie).
Unfortunately she is off to uni in September and will be greatly missed after over 18 months of working for me.
