Hi - Am looking for event trainer recommendations - would like someone not too busy and local to be able to come to me for regular as I need to hire a box for external clinics, etc.

I have a lovely four year old that I want to ensure that I start correctly - he's currently hacking / lightly schooling and doing really well (fingers crossed ..)

I used to have Mary Ann Trevor Roper who I very very much liked (no nonsense, but felt very confident in her and she made me feel confident !) however she isn't teaching very much now - the options that I know about are ....
Jo Burchell - used to have her years ago and would prefer to use someone else
Nick Turner - difficult to get to come to me, although hoping to go to a clinic (as a treat to myself!) ...
Jane Oeppen - have no knowledge of ....
Mia Korenka - SJ only ...

Any ideas very gratefully received as I'm desperate to crack on.

Thx S

Felicity Wells in Lavendon, not sure if shes teaching these days as shes running a yard...
Perhaps see who is doing any clinics at MKEC or phone and see if they can recommend anyone...
Other than that perhaps ask in a few of the tack shops and local livery yards.
I used to have a fab instructor in Npton called Claire, but i cant for the life of me think of her surname or anyone i can find out from....sorry not much hep i know!

Ros Bowley is fab I think she travels Bucks way regularly for clinics & she used to fit me in on her way back (I also don't have transport). Also I think Pippa Haywood is meant ot be very good & her husband Chris great for jumping. Another place to try is the BD website as they have all the registered trainers?

Not sure what level you're looking for help with, but my daughter and I use Marie -surname escapes me- who's parents used to run show centre and riding school down S Bucks. Father sadly passed away a few years ago, he was Terry. She's now living near Leighton Buzzard and teaches at Pony Club as well as privately. PM me if you would like more details. Think my one remaining brain cell has switched off, as can't recall her surname or the place they used to run!

Hi - I have experienced most of those you mention - I must be based close to you. Jane O is excellent with pony club and has a no nonsense style you might like, good for jumping. I use Alison Kenward for flatwork (website is solitaire dressage) and she has worked wonders for my horse. Also for jumping / cross country (not tried him for flat work yet) we used local event rider Max Gordon this summer and despite being very young, he was absolutely great and very affordable. I have all their phone numbers. PM me if you want them. Good luck.

I think you are referring to Marie Keen - mother Lisa? Terry sadly passed away quite a few years ago. They had a farm in Stoke Poges - is it that Marie?

Anyway, nice to hear of them and that Marie is doing so well - I knew her in her very early teens.

Isn't the internet wonderful?
