I am looking to send my horse away for backing and breaking due to a massive increase in workload recently and I want to do her justice. I have heard Suzanne Marshall in Kent is very good - has anyone had any expereince of her? or have any other recommendations? I am quite keen on a natural horsemanship type route. Thanks

I'm not sure whereabouts in Kent you are based so where you would be looking. The yard where I keep my horse use natural horsemanship and take in horses for breaking and schooling. They are very good, reasonably priced and based near Hythe in Kent.

I am happy to travel anywhere in Kent really and would rather she went on 'scholing livery' so to speak - can you PM contact details?
Thanks!

I think it depends on what you want. Suzanne Marshall does the Kelly Marks stuff, but grazing is very limited at her yard and when my friend sent her horse there it was only turned out for a couple of hours a day (you could ask about that before making a decision). Also, hacking in her area is quite limited. So maybe they would be more into schooling in the school sort of work - again, ask.
Jason Webb has 100's of acres to play in, so horses that he starts get exposed to everything, including sheep and traffic. There is plenty of turnout. You would need to ask him about what level he "schools" to I guess. But personally I wouldn't want a young horse to be drilled too much in the arena, I'd rather they got out and built up some fitness and experience hacking.
Horses for courses.

Try Mark Boxall at Preston Farm in Otford, nr Sevenoaks. Loads of experience, nice quiet calm horseman and rides with stirrups the same length as the owners! Quite useful when you apply aids!!!!!

No idea what he charges but he has a big yard that has a good reputation, his liveries really think alot of him, our hacking in the area is superb and he deals with everything from handling, to groundwork, to dealing with problems and backing youngsters, our local vets also recommend him for rehab work.
