I've just got an ex racer who has been off the track about a year. She is the sweetest kindest girl and really talented but also incredibly smart. When I'm riding her if I keep her really thinking she rides like a dream but the minute she's at all bored she really plays up. Does anyone have any good ideas for exercises to keep her guessing?

an old cart horse way was to use a little bell on the bridle . just so the noise kept them amused. i have used it on riding horses and sometimes it works. its cheap so worth a try. imo

Don't do the same thing 2 days in a row. HaCk one day, school the next, jump another day etc...

If mine get bored during a schooling session I have the advantage in riding in a field with ponies in so we play cowboys and indians and round the the shetlands! Or I throw some poles, buckets, stuff out and work round them/over them.

Tb's are far too intelligent for their own good lol!
