Hi, I have injured myself meaning I can't ride or handle my horse.
I've only had the horse a few months but was looking for some sort of plan for the next few weeks to keep doing bits.
OH is currently doing all the brushing etc but is not horsey, I can't free school where we are but we do have an arena, poles etc to use.
I just want to keep him active and keep the bond building.
I'm looking for some sort of 30 day plan of activities that OH can manage 🙈

Making a maze with the poles and get him walking horse through forwards and backwards, turning on quarters. That way it’s good for horse’s brain and also helping OH with handling and getting used to controlling them! Get them stepping over poles and raised poles in walk, going sideways along them! Maybe you can teach them to lunge together?

All sort of depends on the horse’s temperament as well with how fair you can go. My older horse would bully someone not horsey and do as he pleased and controversially my colt is much kinder to an unsure handler (under supervision I’m going to stress here I’m not just getting random people to lead him when I’m not around!!) or if they are the sort to get fresh they may get a little lively for other half.

Lunging? It can be easy to teach the basics as long as your horse is good to lunge. Otherwise it could be worth paying for a pro once or twice a week to ride so that your horse can be progressing while you're off and being kept fitish.
