My 9 yr old can achieve some lovely piaffe half steps, but I'd like to start introducing a hint of passage here and there, but it's not going very well!
He's a big mover but can get fast and choppy, and when i ask for more collection/expression toward passage, he tends to get quicker and his legs go up and down like little pistons!
i am sure a lovely passage is in there - i know i've seen it in the field!!
But if the Advanced Dressage folk of CR have ideas as to how i can help him understand what i'm asking for, we'd be really grateful!
