Hi,
I haven't posted on here for a while but thought this might be a good place to get some answers to some questions I have.
I am seriously considering part time study alongside part time work to become an Equine Veterinary Nurse. I am interested in three year course which offers Equine Pathway included in it. I have 10 GCSEs Grade A*- C and understand that 5 GCSEs are required, currently work as a Freelance Groom/Rider/Instructor and have my own horses so plenty of experience, including helping Vets with my horses and others and Equine Dentists etc. I also have BHS Stages 1-3 and part of my Stage 4. I attained the National Award in Horse Management (Level 3 course) at College several years ago too so pretty certain I have what is needed for entry into the course.
My questions are:
Who do I contact to find out more information? Would contacting my horse's Vet be a good starting point?
Can anyone suggest a University/College that I should go through? (I'm in Leicestershire)
Which is the recognised course to do? i.e which governing body?
Also, I'd love to hear first hand experience from Equine Veterinary Nurses or people who have completed/are in the process of completing this course. What was it like? What does it entail?
Many thanks
