Hi bit of a randomness but seeking good training treats that are ideally somewhere in between a normal sized horse treat (a bit bigger than I’m ideally wanting) and a meadow nut (a bit too small). Low sugar & low calorie as well please.

I’m currently using agrobs treats (can’t remember the name) as I already had a big tub of them but they’re a bit bigger than I’d ideally like for “everyday” sort of stuff as don’t want to turn the pony into a fat blimp-like thing (paranoid by how many weight issues I had with the Highland). Eventually will scale back how often they’re given but for the moment bribery motivates him to try things when he’s a bit unsure and although he’s A LOT better with large vehicles he’s not quite at the stage where they’re just part of the scenery which is unfortunate when we’re on a bus route 😂

He finds carrots a bit TOO exciting to use other than for special occasions (& also that involves me remembering to chop them up!)

Ideally after something (or a few different somethings) that won’t immediately disintegrate in my pocket (another reason for not wanting to continue with meadow nuts!) but accept that 99% of horse treats like to do that!

I like using grass nuts as they're small (possibly smaller than a meadow nut?) and you can vary the amount easily. They get a good chew out of them also. Also don't disintegrate.

I keep a couple of Baileys on hand as well for an extra big well done but they turn to dust as soon as look at them.

I buy the 20kg bags of Baileys Fibre Nuggets and find them economical enough to have a pocketful on me most of the time and the horses all find them an acceptable motivating treat. Bigger than a standard feed nut but smaller than the small bagged treats you get. In the big bags a lot of them get broken up so I get a variety of smaller ‘half’ treats and full size ones.

I used SS Haycare for feed, so always have a handful in my pocket in case anyone needs a treat. They are bigger than a pony/grass nut but not as big as some of the packaged treats
Did used to use the Bailey's fibre nuggets

Omega do great treats which are in what appear to be excellent flavours - Coconut or as mine prefer, toffee apple.
They are somewhere between a nut and a normal treat and often break in half which is handy.
