I am looking to take my 7 yo ex racehorse away to train for a week or so as I feel we both need a kick up the backsides!!! I don't really want anything to specific really (ie not solely dressage or jumping) as he gets very switched off if we do the same thing two days running but hopefully something that will teach us a bit whilst still having a bit of fun!
Any ideas welcome!!!

Not sure where you're based but have a look at Talland
www.talland.net
They cater for all disciplines and you should have fun there too!!!

Have heard Yorkshire Riding School (Chris Bartle) is good. Not been there myself, but person who did go rated it. She was a novice rider with first horse who was a bit much for her (not saying you're the same!!!) and she benefitted greatly. She rode alot more effectively after a week away.

I went to Nigel Taylors for three days a couple of weeks ago - the improvement in mine and the horses performance is amazing and our confidence levels are at an all time high!! On arrival I had never jumped a XC fence bigger than 2'6'' and would admit to being totally lacking in confidence and self belief - on day 2 I was jumping pre novice fences (I really couldn't believe it!!).. Since going i have now successfully jumped BSJA 90cm (something I have been trying to do for 12 months!) Don't know what his magic is but it certainly worked for me. You can do everything here - flatwork, SJ and XC. I am going back this weekend cos I want to get started BE intro eventing. I went to Talland in October last year and although it was OK, I wouldn't go there for anything other than flatwork.
