i have jus aquired a two year old thoroughbred x percheron colt, he is a sweet little thing and will easily make a good all rounder. i am starting to do some work with him, but only get time every couple of weeks, he is already learning to walk with me and listening to commands, we even had a little lunge on a long lead rope the other day, i was just wondering if anyone could give me some tips on training this sweetie to be the alrounder i want. he seems to be a fast learner.

One word BOMBPROOFING! If you want an all-rounder you have to introduce (slowly) potentially spooky things. I know your lad is only 2, so take it slow. My boy was 3.5 years old when I started. I introduced things like umbrellas, traffic cones, tarpaulin, flags, anything you can find really. I just put them in the school and slowly got closer, I also used treats but that’s a personal choice.
I consider my boy Bodey (the coloured in my sig) a true all-rounder.

thanx i will definatly try that, i fink the percheron in him will make him pretty relaxed, his dad is one chilled horse. i only get 2 see him every couple of weeks so he wont be rushed.
