Trakhener or Holsteiner (to go on TB mare). Generalisations please!

I have just bought a four year old by Condios and he is fabulous !! Super movement and bold jump. He certainly looks at things around him, but just seems to grow a hand taller - isn't silly / spooky. Very cuddly - his feet are a very good natural shape, but my farrier who has just shod him for the first time, says that he needs some more strength in them as they weren't properly balanced before.

My boy (Colin) is very un-fit, otherwise we would have competed in some of the young event horse classes this year, but am giving him more time to mature & gain experience, etc.

this is a copy of the advert so that you can see him move (it was taken in the winter when he was just backed and has grown a lot since then, as well as become stronger).

In all this safety argument, has anyone ever thought much about bred of horse?
The WBs are out to kill you with their unhelpfull, slow thinking ways..

Re. dressage, contrary to popular belief, you don't need a WB to do a good dressage!! I keep going back to the fact that our best ever placing at the Olympics in the pure dressage, was by a TB (an ex-racehorse infact).

GtF, i have a homebred by Fleetwater Opposition, I know of a lot of TOP Traks, you don't need to sing their praises to me. Wonderful horses. Mine isn't abnormally spooky for a youngster (which both my Hann crosses were), I'm v keen on using a good Trak, that's why I'm so keen on Axis.

MdS, yes, someone has done a big study about the breeds of horse involved in the fatal falls, fwiw. was mentioned in passing at Safety Forum on wed, but no details.
IF I could find a tb which is as-guaranteed-as-you-can-get to throw GREAT FEET (not easy to find), a better neck, and great athleticism on her, I'd be there right away.... but my list of tbs was huge and they've all been counted out by people with a lot more experience than me! I'd love to breed sth dual-purpose but I just can't see anything out there with those strong points.
fwiw I don't think the wbs are out to kill us with their slow brains (i've known thick tbs in my time), i think they're out to kill us if we're daft enough to try to take dangly-legged ones xc. as i've said before, i don't care if it lifts its body high enough to jump a house, if it dangles its knees (and some top sjs don't get those knees high enough for my liking) it isn't safe to ride to a fixed fence...
my Hann x Tb was safe as houses xc, really got his knees up, and very quick-thinking. actually, faster than me sometimes, and usually in the wrong direction! at least the tbs and idxtbs tend to use their initiative in the right direction...!
hmm. back to Axis v Condios...
