Anyone familiar with the Lym/Thelwall section? We're looking for different areas close to Warrington to ride, as the hacking generally in the area is pretty poor. Any suggestions gratefully received!

Delamere Forest has some nice hacking. I have a feeling you need to pay for a licence or something similar though. We have some pretty good hacking in Little Budworth. Fair few tracks, many of them sand.

No licence required for delamere forest!

There used to be. Just a fee of I think about £2 for all day parking. Kelsall hill fun ride is close by, too.

Thanks both. We set sail to all the usual haunts, including Kelsall and Somerford etc etc but I'd love to discover a little bridleway or tucked away hack that's not advertised. Have seen searching on line for an hour or 2 - websites on bridleways, cycle routes, rights of way, ordanance surveys etc etc but hot come up with anything yet. I used to ride at Stathem Lodge in Lymm many moons ago and we used to set off across some cracking bridleways and paths. Can't remember where exactly now though. They've probably got houses on them now as well!

Ahh gotcha, well I think the best way to do that is to set off and see where you get to.

Sorry, not too helpful

but if you go to delamere then there are nice quiet road/bridleway hacks through Norley. Crowton too. used to be on livery stretton way and hated the hacking there, it was so limited.

There is a big loop ride you can do by us that takes you round the River Weaver. Cant remeber its name but its bridlepaths and you should find it on the maps. We are based near Acton Bridge Northwich
