Transport needed Whittlesey/Peterborough area.

Hi,
Im looking for some transport to shows and clinics for me and my 15.2 irish sports horse mare. At the moment, we dont have any, and i need to get her out. We generally showjump, and do classes 2"9 onwards. Were in Coates, Whittlesey so if anyone also goes to shows etc, and has a space in their box, id be really greatful.
Im more than happy to give petrol money.

Sorry this makes me laugh. how much does people think (petrol money ) should be / £10, £15 , or true value £50 + as I have found in the past , a persons horse damages the trailer/lorry but they dont think they should pay or they get in the jump off and you dont and you end up staying a extra hour or 2 .
I hire out our trailer £40 a day but very oftern we get a phone enquiry stating we only want it for a couple of hours as we only want to move a horse a few miles so only expect to pay £15. sorry a days hire is a day end off. why do horse people always want everything on the cheap.

You will see self drive there.

You cannot 'cadge a lift' with friends and give them money-this is illegal!

HH had a reasonable guide on the do's and don't on Operator Licences and DEFRA licences

TO be within the law you either need to hire a trailer as suggested above or hire your own self drive lorry-failing that IF you got a bunch of friends together hire a transporter with a big lorry-say 6 box so the costs are spread amongst yourselves

BUT don't expect the transporters to work for 'free'-the price of diesel is sky rocketing! If going out for the day with a transporter expect it to be around 200+

I have only just read this post. I'm relatively local and I'm out and about a fair bit by myself and hoping to get some practice at that sort of height, I was just reading to down to find out more as it would be nice to have someone to go with.
