Hi there!

I am looking for reputable transport recommendations from Limerick to York for one horse at the beginning of April please. Any companies people can recommend?

I am a first timer at importing so this is all new to me. Thankyou

Eric Gillie transport- they do regular trips from Ireland to Uk, have an Irish base and main office in Kelso. Have a look at their website or phone them, they’re very easy to work with.

I used Bramhams, Northern Ireland to Northamptonshire. Horse arrived relaxed and happy. I would definitely recommend them.

Ben Skilbeck at Bramhams of Buckingham. Experienced horsemen who are also very knowledgeable about the new Brexit regs. Used them many times and they've always been faultless. Horses have arrived unstressed and confident to travel again.

Mine came with Bramhams of Buckingham, a recommendation from the seller.

He was picked up in Southern Ireland at 10pm, travelled north, ferried overnight, here with me for midday the very next day.

The box on the ferry was a huge shared one, then they were split off into little 2 horse boxes so not so many drops.

The driver was lovely, I had photos of loading and swapping, the horse was on time with updates.

My experience was good.

After being let down by one company I spoke to Eric Gillie and Bramhams but unfortunately neither could help with a last minute run, however they were very helpful and recommended Ken Gamble International Horse Transport. Ken kindly fit me in and was just great!

Finn had a long journey from Southern Ireland to South East Kent. He did one stint to Ken’s yard in England, stayed the night in his yard then travelled the rest of the way to Kent the next day. Super company with updates and Finn arrived very relaxed, would highly recommend!

I used Mullins. Picked up in Sligo on weds afternoon and delivered to me in England on Friday early afternoon. Came off exhausted and looking very light. Took him weeks to get enough energy to break out of a walk, so I think the trip was really hard on him (yearling). Delivered as the last horse in a massive lorry that was too big to enter my drive so had to unload on main road. They didn’t seem to feed any hay at all on the lorry and the communication with them wasn’t great, perhaps used to dealing with racehorses where the owners don’t fuss and want updates. So just check about feeding etc.
