Genuine question/s :)

How much does it cost to register (and who with!)? as a transporter?

Im talking a little 3.5ton box....to do it all above board

Curiosity as ive not got the funds to do it but would consider it a few years down the road as i know its a very good business to be in !: :)

It's very hard work.

It's very expensive.

It's not just registering, but insurance, vehicle checks etc.

I was thinking about it, but given current climate, it's would take me years to actually earn a wage back and even then, if diesel keeps at it, I don't think I'd make it worthwhile.

Sorry to be a bit harsh, but it's an expensive and extremely responsible career.

Btw, forgot to add, I am going for it, but.I'm not just transporting horses, I'm doing house removals and a courier service. Obviously not all at the same time.

It's the only way I seem to be able to make money and even then, If I could work for tescos etc, I'd be better off!

Oh. I'll pm you my insurance quote, vehicle testing fees, advertising fees and defra charge when I get in.

It's hard work compared to most jobs out there.

ah thanks :)

any other views welcome too :)

just wondering about lisencing/ VOSA??? etc

Its just something to consider one day - hard work but still :)
