So hopefully, subject to vetting, I need to move a pony from the North East to the midlands. I have never done anything like this before. Any recommendations of where to start. Someone in here suggested booking subject to vetting.

Can't recommend Matt East Equine Transport guy enough, he's based in Norfolk but covers all over the UK.

Lovely lovely guy with a huge amount of patience for my very difficult pony.

Atlantis, my other half and I can help you. We run a small scale transporting business alongside full time work. If that sounds any good please PM me and I'll give you further details, don't want to look as tho I am advertising on here!

Where they pick up your horse and transport with others going many different places horses are dropped off and picked up as they go .
The journey will usually be longer but cheaper and the horse has company .
The alternative is a small local transporter either someone based near you goes picks up the horse and brings it back or someone based near to seller picks up drives over to you .
I think I would start looking by ringing your local vet , vets usually have a list of people who will do one off trips for people who need to get horses to the surgery and no transport .
It was a local one man band that the NFU used to move Fatty to vet uni when he was ill .
He did a very good job .

Thanks Goldenstar!!! I thought that was what you meant. She traveled well over from Ireland I think but company for her would be nice. I'll do as you suggest and ring my vets for recommendations and get some quotes from bigger companies too!!
